Pentru anul 2025, ne propunem să maximizăm implicarea noastră în aceste proiecte, punând accentul pe acțiuni civice, cu influență majoră în dezvoltarea tinerilor, ajutorarea comunităților vulnerabile și defavorizate, promovarea culturii și deprinderea unui comportament responsabil față de natură.
Sinestezia is the event that brings forward art in its various unconventional forms. During the pilot edition, held over five days, we enriched the contemporary cultural landscape and offered artists a new platform for expression, encouraging their creativity and presenting it to the public.
The pilot episode of the project took place at the end of November 2021, with a series of events in which music, dance, and visual arts intertwined through multimedia and sensory installations, unconventional performances, and artistic workshops, featuring well-known local and national artists.
The pilot edition of the Sinestezia project was co-funded by Iași City Hall.
This autumn, we returned with the second edition of Sinestezia, which took place between October 26–30, 2023.

For five days, between October 26–30, 2023, in Iași, the public was once again able to experience phenomena of the imaginary through art and technology, in both classical and unconventional spaces throughout the city.

Events
Starting Thursday, October 26, between 12:00 and 19:00, in the Piața Unirii Passage, you will be able to experience, for five days, a new creation by video artists Andrei Cozlac and Radu Marțîn.
Iași will host an ambient video installation that reinterprets the rhythm of the city in relation to the dynamics and pulse of its people. These elements become the fuel and the driving force that propel the city toward a certain direction or future.
The narrative of the installation is shaped by its visual and sonic rhythm, which will transform the passage into the city’s underground engine, pushing it toward a utopian perspective.
At Sinestezia 2023, the concert experience will take on new sensory dimensions, and the musical story will unfold in a truly unique setting.
On Friday, October 27, at 19:00, we meet at Soft & Grace Garden for Silent Concert: Adam’s Nest!
The band was formed in 2017 in Iași as a small acoustic–experimental project, without big ambitions at first. In April 2018, after releasing their self-titled EP, the band took shape, welcomed new members, put on their best shoes, and stepped onto the big stage — where they’ve remained ever since. In 2020, they released the album “IREZISTIBIL,” and they are currently working on new material.
Apartment blocks in the city’s outskirts, a few unforgettable rains, late-night apartment parties with unexpected guests, and a handful of lost nights each year form the foundation of the universe created in the nest of Răzvan Nicolae Rusu (vocals & guitar), Vlad Alui Gheorghe (guitar & vocals), Răzvan Moroșanu (bass), and Andrei Hâncu (drums).
On Sunday, October 29, at 19:00, we will meet at Baia Turcească for Quantum Bodies.
At Sinestezia 2023, we will experience a contemporary dance and video-mapping performance in which the body is viewed as a quantum field of possibilities condensed into a single form of movement.
The dancer’s body becomes matter in a continuous state of flux, questioning the very way the subject manifests in the present moment. Who does this body represent? Is it the dancer themselves, or could it be a version of each one of us?
On Monday, October 30, we conclude our artistic journey with Drum Together: African Drum Circle. Starting at 18:00, the African drumming workshops led by Lucian Contiu will take place at Fab Lab Iași, Str. Rândunica 2, TEX 6 building, 2nd floor.
This is an invitation for the public to step into the world of music—beginners or advanced, curious participants or simple admirers—with the guidance of Lucian, educator, percussionist, founder of the School of Drums and Hearts, and organizer of Ecstatic Dance Cluj-Napoca.
African tribal rhythms carry a distinct magic, and their music encourages us to explore the world of sound and rhythm, and to connect with our own bodies.
The workshops will be divided into two groups:

We are eagerly looking forward to discovering Răzvan’s artistic side in a new sensory experience at Sinestezia 2023, during the Silent Concert: Adam’s Nest!
Vlad Alui Gheorghe wandered for a while among writers, then among musicians, and everything he gathered from each world he distilled into the work he does today.
We will meet him and his bandmates at the Silent Concert: Adam’s Nest, on Friday, October 27, from 19:00, at Soft & Grace Garden.
Andrei Hâncu is a drummer involved in several musical projects, covering a very wide musical spectrum — all driven by his love for music and his constant pursuit of improvement.
We are extremely curious to hear how the drums will sound at Sinestezia 2023, during the Silent Concert: Adam’s Nest!
Răzvan Moroșanu has performed with the bands Glasgow and Fine, it’s Pink, and since this summer he has found his place in the nest that the guys from Adam’s Nest have been preparing for a while.
We can’t wait to enjoy Răzvan’s bass lines at the Silent Concert: Adam’s Nest, on October 27, starting at 19:00, at Soft & Grace Garden (168 Sărărie Street).
Starting Thursday, October 26, we will experience the innovative creations of Andrei Cozlac, one of the most acclaimed video artists in Romania.
An experimentalist interested in the latest multimedia technologies, he has created numerous independent projects involving visuals, video mapping, and live projections, and has been present at many festivals across the country.
Andrei has designed video work for theatre productions directed by Silviu Purcărete, Radu Afrim, Alexandru Dabija, Charles Muller, Theodor Cristian Popescu, Eugen Jebeleanu, Ioana Păun, Octavian Jighirgiu, Florin Caracala, and others. He is a lecturer (PhD) at the “George Enescu” National University of Arts and a collaborating professor in the media department of the Faculty of Arts in Romanian Language, Târgu Mureș.
The Piața Unirii Passage will vibrate with urban color between October 26 and 30, thanks to Radu Marțîn, through the ambient video installation A Hyper Drive for This City.
Radu is a visual artist from Iași, interested in video, generative technology, and performative art within the New Media field.
Part of his artistic practice focuses on studying the human psyche in relation to technology, aiming to develop new visual expressions that engage with artistic perception.
On Sunday, October 29, we will admire Alice Veliche in the performance Quantum Bodies, starting at 19:00, at Baia Turcească.
Alice is a talented choreographer with an impressive portfolio that includes numerous dance performances as well as theatre productions. She has created choreography for notable works such as “Massage,” directed by Radu Afrim at the “Vasile Alecsandri” National Theatre in Iași, “Lysistrata, My Love,” directed by Zalán Zakariás, and “The Infinite Monkey Theorem,” directed by Antonella Cornici.
One of her major professional achievements was creating the choreography for the 30th edition of the UNITER Gala, highlighting her remarkable skill and talent in the world of choreography and the performing arts.
Radu Alexandru describes himself as someone who loves to experiment, explore, and focus above all on the process and on what he can learn from every experience. This is why the performances he has created belong to very different choreographic approaches. Among them are: “RED LINE,” “The Little Prince,” “Space–Soul–Second,” “KARNAL,” and, not least, Quantum Bodies, one of the performances we will see at Sinestezia 2023, on October 29, at Baia Turcească, starting at 19:00.
Radu has also collaborated with theatre directors to create choreography for stage productions such as “Three Sad Plays” by Radu Afrim, “The Infinite Monkey Theorem,” and “IVAN” by Antonella Cornici. He is currently an independent choreographer and a PhD candidate at the “Theatre Doctoral School” within the same university.
We are delighted to have Lucian Contiu with us at Drum Together: African Drum Circle, an event taking place on Monday, October 30, at Fab Lab 1 (Str. Rândunica 2, TEX 6 building, 2nd floor, Iași).
We like to think of him as energetic, full of life, and above all, passionate about the courses he facilitates. Lucian graduated from Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj, was part of Cercul Întreg, founded the School of Drums and Hearts, and is currently an organizer at Ecstatic Dance.

Program
For five days, between November 26–30, 2021, in Iași, the public experienced phenomena of the imaginary through art and technology, in both classical and unconventional spaces across the city. The events were held in a hybrid format, both online and in person.
Admission was free, and access was granted based on the green certificate, in accordance with the regulations in force and within the available capacity.

At Sinestezia, we experienced several of the innovative creations of Andrei Cozlac, one of the most renowned video artists in Romania.
An experimentalist interested in the latest multimedia technologies, he has created numerous independent projects involving visuals, video mapping, and live projections.
He collaborates with major music festivals both in Romania and abroad. Andrei has also designed video work for theatre productions directed by Silviu Purcărete, Radu Afrim, Alexandru Dabija, Charles Muller, Theodor Cristian Popescu, Eugen Jebeleanu, Ioana Păun, Octavian Jighirgiu, Florin Caracala, and others. Silviu Apostol, also known as Luda, is a visual artist well-known on both the Iași and national art scenes. His artistic practice sits at the intersection of graffiti and new media installation art. He has created numerous projects and is recognized for his work in visuals and video mapping, video design, and his collaborations with electronic music festivals, events, and theatre productions.
Beyond this, Luda helped build an urban art movement in Iași, energizing the local event scene and opening it toward underground artistic culture.
Luda was one of the artists who contributed to the creation of the Fluid Memory installation, which passersby could experience for five days in the Piața Unirii passageway.
Momo Peter Sanno is a professional dancer and choreographer whose work integrates multiple dance styles and techniques. He has over 15 years of experience in international productions and more than 2,000 performances in his portfolio.
He enjoys the challenge of harmoniously blending different types of movement and philosophy into choreography.
A movement director and teacher, Momo has been part of several dance companies in the USA, Brazil, Jamaica, Germany, the Netherlands, and Haiti. He lives and works in Berlin and Bucharest.
Momo led the Finding Freedom workshops, where we explored the art of contemporary dance taught by a true master of movement.
Ana-Cristina Leonte is one of the most creative vocalists and composers in Romania, representing not only the contemporary jazz scene but also the electronic underground. She has gained extensive experience and artistic independence by studying jazz, borrowing precious tools from the genre such as the effervescence of improvisation, the rhythmic-melodic inflection of words and poetic expression, and the ability to play with rhythmic textures. Combined with modern influences such as hip-hop, drum and bass, trip-hop, ambient, spoken word, and world music, these elements shape a deep and highly personal sonic identity that she expresses through her work and continues to explore and refine as a composer, bandleader, and performer (violin, voice, effects, etc.).
She has collaborated with many artists from the Romanian and international jazz scenes, the underground music world, as well as with creators from contemporary dance, theatre, and film. Among them are Albert Tajti, Mircea Tiberian, Tavi Scurtu, John Betsch, Chris Dahlgren, Albrecht Maurer, Sorin Romanescu, Cosmin Manolescu, Denis Bolborea, Matei Grunberg, Nae Caramfil, Gabriel Durlan, Germain Kanda, and others.
She has organized and taken part in numerous concerts, projects, and cultural initiatives, earning the appreciation of audiences at important events in Romania, Austria, Germany, Portugal, Spain, and Hungary.
At Sinestezia, we admired her in the Heart Cave performance at the Palace of Culture, where she guided us through a musical-spiritual journey.
Saxophonist, flutist, composer, bandleader, producer, and founder of Arc Records, Alex Arcuș is one of the most acclaimed musicians of the new generation.
At the beginning of his career, between 2008 and 2014, he undertook extensive concert activity as a member of the ethno-jazz project Trigon, an experience through which he successfully explored the fusion of folk traditions with contemporary jazz.
In 2014 he settled in Bucharest, where he performs both as a bandleader and as a sideman in projects such as FaceToFace, BJO (Bucharest Jazz Orchestra), HBO, 3 for Helen, Tzuc&Petzi, Javra, A-C Leonte, ARCUS TRIO, KRiSPER, Teodora Enache (The Prophet), The Jam Community, and the Paolo Profeti European Collective.
Motivated by the desire to support the jazz scene in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, in 2015 he became a promoter and founded the record label Arc Records, through which he has produced a series of albums for both specialized and general audiences.
Throughout his career, he has performed in more than 20 countries at over 30 festivals and venues around the world.
Alex Arcuș has developed a distinctive improvisational style over time, marked by a complex rhythmic language and an expanded tonal vocabulary. This is supported both by his mastery of multiple instruments — alto saxophone, soprano saxophone, tenor saxophone, flute, and traditional wind instruments — and by his expressive use of electronic effects to shape innovative sound textures.
At Sinestezia, we enjoyed his versatile artistry during the Heart Cave performance at the Palace of Culture.
Spacenoodles is a Romanian artist who produces electronic music in real time using modular synthesizers (or, more precisely, a “weird noise maker,” as he describes himself), also known as Marius Ursache.
Marius is also a serial entrepreneur and former medical doctor who has worked for the past 20 years in a wide range of fields, from healthcare, design, marketing, fintech, and AI, to event management and innovation consulting. He has founded four companies, an NGO, and a music festival, all aligned with his diverse interests. He has taught at MIT and Singularity University and holds an impressive number of international awards.
Born and raised in Romania, he has traveled extensively and lived in various parts of the world — from Morocco, the Amazon, and Ethiopia to Vanuatu — exploring cultures with an incredible curiosity and eagerness to learn new things. A truly fascinating figure with a boundless creative energy, at Sinestezia he taught us how to make music using modular synthesizers.
Iustinian Turcu is one of the most talented young actors of his generation in Romania. An actor at the “Radu Stanca” National Theatre, he won the UNITER Award for Best Debut for the role of Georg in the production “Märtyrer/Martiri,” directed by Radu Nica, in 2017.
He has played dozens of roles, with his most recent performances including Tuzenbach, Solionîi Vasili Vasilievici, and Fedotik Alexei Petrovich in “Three Sisters” by Anton Chekhov, directed by Andrei and Andreea Grosu (2021); Essa in “On the Other Side of the World,” directed by Alexandra Badea (2021); and Paul in “Maternal,” directed by Radu Nica (2020). He has also collaborated with renowned directors such as Silviu Purcărete, Radu Afrim, and Eugen Jebeleanu.
He completed his BA and MA studies at “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu, Faculty of Letters and Arts, Department of Theatre Studies. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Sibiu and works as a teaching assistant.
In 2021, he published his first volume of poetry, We Loved Each Other During the Pandemic, an artistic expression of emotional vulnerability and lived experience during the pandemic. His book inspired the performance of the same name, premiered at Sinestezia, at Casa Muzeelor, part of the National Museum of Romanian Literature in Iași.
A well-known and appreciated actor of the new generation, Ali Deac graduated from the Faculty of Letters and Arts in Sibiu, Acting Department, in the class of Professor George Ivașcu (2008). In 2009, one year after graduation, he became a laureate of the Hop Gala, where he received the Audience Award for the performance “Clișee?!?”, directed by Barbara Crișan.
An actor of the “Radu Stanca” National Theatre in Sibiu since 2008, he has worked with renowned directors such as Silviu Purcărete, Alexandru Dabija, Gigi Căciuleanu, Lia Bugnar, Victor Ioan Frunză, Gianina Cărbunariu, Șerban Puiu, and Radu Afrim. He has participated in international theatre festivals in Frankfurt and Edinburgh with the production “Faust,” directed by Silviu Purcărete, and at the Festival d’Avignon with the production “Solitaritate,” directed by Gianina Cărbunariu.
His most recent roles include Radu in “Maternal” by Alexandra Badea, directed by Radu Nica; Jerry in “Tom and Jerry 2.0,” directed by Florin Piersic Jr.; and Dr. Frank in “Live” by Thomas Perle, directed by Bobi Pricop.

Eduard Draude (b. January 31, 1987) is a freelance performing arts creator. Passionate about the impact of music on the human brain and its role in everyday life, he composes music and creates sound worlds for performances, installations, and theatre productions. He works across sound design, live audio production (guitar, synthesizer, musical improvisation, live sampling & looping, live audio FX, DJ mixing), and studio work.
His most recent creations are connected to theatre and contemporary dance performances. He signed the composition, soundscape, and live act for the performance series What we are today will change tomorrow, coordinated by choreographer Andreea Novac/Teatru FIX and Teatrul din Stejar Iași (2020–2021); the composition and sound design for The Last Dance of the Dragonfly by Cornel Mihai Ungureanu, directed by Florin Caracala/The “Marin Sorescu” National Theatre in Craiova (2021); the composition and soundscape for Freedom in Bremen by Rainer Werner Fassbinder, directed by Florin Caracala/The “Vasile Alecsandri” National Theatre in Iași (2021); and the composition and soundscape for Hitler’s Mustache by Mihai Ignat, directed by Vlad Volf/Teatrul din Stejar Iași (2019).

Sebastian Vîrtosu is a founding member of the “Gaudeamus” String Quartet since 1987. He studied cello with C. Constantin, M. Manaf, Gh. Rus, and D. Prelipcean, and chamber music with D. Prelipcean (VOCES Quartet), W. Levin (LaSalle Quartet), H. Maguire (Allegri Quartet), N. Brainin, M. Lovett, S. Niessel (Amadeus Quartet), Th. Kakuska, V. Erben (Alban Berg Quartet), St. Metz (Orlando Quartet), M. Škampa (Smetana Quartet), and V. Berlinsky (Borodin Quartet).
Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards for his musical activity, including the Grand Prize “Rovere d’Oro” at the San Bartolomeo al Mare International Chamber Music Competition in Italy (2000, with the Gaudeamus Quartet), Second Prize (the First Prize not being awarded) at the “V. Bellini” International Chamber Music Competition in Caltanissetta, Sicily, Italy (1995, with the Gaudeamus Quartet), and the Special Jury Prize at the “Mozart” International String Quartet Competition in Salzburg, Austria (1995, with the Gaudeamus Quartet).
He is an Associate Professor, PhD, at the “George Enescu” National University of Arts in Iași and has given masterclasses as a guest professor at the Royal Conservatoire (Birmingham, UK) and at the Academy of Music, Dance and Visual Arts (Plovdiv, Bulgaria).
At Sinestezia, we experienced his artistry as he harmonized the cello performance We Loved Each Other During the Pandemic at Casa Muzeelor, within the National Museum of Romanian Literature in Iași.
Daniel Mancaș has shaped the light design of many electronic music events, collaborating with international artists and setting high standards for local clubs as well as AAA-category festivals such as Rocanotherworld, Classix, film festivals, and appearances at SXSW (USA) and RCW (RO).
A light designer passionate about visual arts, he has crafted the lighting for numerous large-scale music events and festivals, both in Romania and abroad.
